Elementary Honour Band takes place in the DW Poppy Band Room,  2:45-3:45pm on Mondays starting October 16th. The ensemble is for students who are looking for additional challenges beyond what they get in their elementary band so admission to the band is by audition with your child’s Elementary Band Director (Mr. Follett or Mr. Steeves). Requirements will be discussed and emailed home in the second week of band.

• Expectations:
  • Bring your instrument, folder, music and pencil every classTake notes during rehearsal and work on the music at home to get better at at least 3 sections, at least 3 times a week
  • Listen to the demo recordings until you can vocalize it (doo, doo, doo, la, la, la or whatever works for you) so you know they are internalized and you know your target
  • Communicate absences via email in advance if at all possible

  • March 12 @ DW Poppy – Elementary Zone Concert
  • Spring Daytrip TBA
  • June 13 @ DW Poppy – ESPRESSIVO: Summer Pops

  • Black with Red Accents

Please be sure to keep a Parent/Guardian email current with Mr. Follett as any last-minute changes to our schedule if Mr. Follett is away for a day will be done via email.
